I'm seriously not trying to come off as an asshole, or to call anyone in particular out. But this is something I seriously need to get off my chest, as it is a subject that is very important to me. If you value me and respect my work, you will read it, and hear me out.

I am an artist. Yes, that means I create art, whether it's digitally, or traditionally. With a camera, or with paints. I love what I do. I have been blessed with a talent. A skill. A trade. Even with this, I go to school, for years, to refine my skills and master them. Much like any other person in a profession.

Does not a mechanic work hard, and had to learn quite a bit, accumulating knowledge pertaining to their profession over many years? Sometimes even a life time?

Or how about a Lawyer? Do they not spend years, and take on incredible debt, to get their degree, and to practice law?

Or what about a doctor? A chef? A teacher? A plumber? A construction worker?

So what's my point? All of these professions/career fields I listed, are all respected jobs. And they get paid for their work. Their craft. Their trade. Their skill set.

So why does everyone take a shit on artists? Why do you all ask us for free art?

Do you people realize, that when you do this, it's like asking a psychologist for a free professional opinion? They did not go to school, to give you what they worked hard for, for free. God bless those who do, and do so in 3rd world countries, but most of society doesn't roll like that. And here's why:

There are these things called bills. Artists have those too, as well as families to take care of in regards to health insurance, providing food, clothes, and shelter. I'm sorry, but I don't have time right now, to make you 'free art' because you are:

A.) Family
B.) An In-Law
C.) My Friend
D.) Because you feel as though art should be free
E.) You presume that since I like doing it, I can do it for free for fun
F.) You presume that what I do, is simple, and thus it won't take long to create

And I'm going to break this down to you guys so you can clearly understand where I am coming from.

:bulletblue: A- Family
You ain't paying my bills, buying my food, paying my mortgage, my car note, ect. Fuck you. Pay me. I still love you, but if I give my shit to you for free, then I shouldn't have the right to sell to anyone else who isn't of 'blood.'

:bulletblue: B- In-Laws
You aren't blood. Sorry, but if I got a divorce tomorrow, you guys wouldn't be there to help... nor do I expect you to. Fuck you. Pay me.

:bulletblue: C- My Friends
You fuckers already know, I know you ain't paying my bills. You probably know me from the 'hood' or from the Corps. So you assholes know how it is to work hard for your shit. Fuck you. Pay me.

:bulletblue: D- Because you feel as though art should be free
You're an asshole. Fuck you. Pay me.

:bulletblue: E- You presume that since I like doing art, I can do it for free
Yes. I like to do art. I like to communicate through art. And yes I can do it for free, just as easily as I can tell you, "Fuck you. Pay me."

:bulletblue: F- You presume that what I do is simple, and thus won't take long to create
Yes. It's simple to me. Wanna know why? Because I worked my fucking ass off to attain the knowledge that I have about art. About art composition, color theory, design, technique, etc. I've spent not only money on supplies, tools, and instruction, but time. Time is non-refundable. And yet, because to me, my art is simple to create, or rather execute, it doesn't mean that there isn't a process that involves planning, drafting, and working out many times, before the resulted 'finished product' that I present. This takes time. It's tedious. And thus, FUCK YOU. PAY ME.

I swear to all of you, you ask me, one more god damn time, for free photos, free art, or free whatever, because of whatever obligation you think I have to you, I will make an example out of you, in the most embarrassing way possible, it will be hilarious, and then promptly put on blast on as many social media's as I can conjure, including /b/. Why? Because you are an asshole. I don't go around asking you for free work. If anything, I'd ask for a favor, and offer to pay you. Either with currency, my time, or other services.

Also, don't ask any other artist for free art. That is incredibly rude, and insulting. If you want something, offer to pay.... something! And don't pressure them, or guilt tripping them into doing art for you either. That's so fucked up and manipulative, no matter who you are asking.

Lastly, you little fucks who give away your art for free. FUCK YOU! You are the very reason why I have to explain myself in the first place! You devalued, not only yourself, like a little art slut, but everyone else who uses their talent's as their bread and butter!

TL;DR
Stop asking artists (i.e. ME, LYDIA LOVE COLLISON) for free art. I am in college, trying to earn my degree. The art I make and post here, is for my degree. I've worked hard to maintain my GPA of 3.6, and to really be the best artist, and person, I can be. Don't insult me, and disrespect my talents, just because you are ignorant as to what my job/skill set pertains to.

Some of you may have noticed the massive amount of uploads in your inboxes. I apologize for that. I was uploading everything that I have done in college. Well, not everything, but a decent amount. I have uploaded sketches from life models, sculpture, and some digital paintings. I've been doing this so that I could update my blog and get it ready for 8th quarter portfolio review... and quite possibly to show my Department Head something so I can get an internship somewhere. If your curious, you can check it out- feel free to add me, and give me pointers on the layout too!

lovecollison.blogspot.com

Life has been busy. And it will continue to be that way. I start class at 8 am today... and here I am updating this lousy journal!

But seriously, I'm going to be pretty stacked this quarter, since all 4 of my classes are focused on my major. Not only that, but I've been working out at the gym 3-4 times a week, and I'll be damned if I'm going to throw my progress away. So I really won't have time for anything. It's ok though, I'm building my mind and body to be strong... even if I get more grey hair because of it.

I never did finish my Halo armor. Humidity and misplacement caused it to become unsalvageable. I blame my husband for this. However, it's ok. I'm honing my skills in sculpting, and I plan on actually sculpting armor parts, rather than relying on paper cut outs. I'll get there... but one thing at a time.

So this journal is basically tell you guys, I'm not dead... I'm just so busy, that I don't sleep. I don't want to blink, because I'll miss something important.

You guys stay classy now!

I'm in the costuming spirit. I'm actually kinda bored with being just a Dirty Tusken... I need to spice somethings up.

I plan before the next PAX (hopefully before Emerald City Comic Con but I doubt it) I'll have my Halo ODST/DARE armor finished along with my original Jedi in Mandalorian armor (Jedi Collison lololol) to be finished.

I recently bought a Mandalorian bucket from a friend of mine, I'm waiting for him to tell me it's ready for pick up, and I'll fetch it and paint it. All I need to do on the Mando is go out and buy some Sintra in Seattle at a plastics place called TAP. Then I'll start cutting out my Mando armor and shaping it to my body with the help of some 501st friends. Should be a fun armor party!

As for the ODST/DARE I'm using Pepakura and printing out the models on cardstock and super gluing them together. It's a long and tedious process. I only have one gauntlet, Carter's gauntlet attachment (I'm adding it on because it's bitchin!), and I'm about 2/5ths into the chest plate.

If you want to follow my progress on the ODST, you can follow my progress build here at the 405th forum boards:

I suspect that college is going to slow me down on these projects... -sadface-

Well I finished my 3rd quarter. I'm uncertain what my final grades are, but I think I got 2 A's and 2 B's. Either way, I got good grades and I learned a great deal this quarter. Next quarter should be interesting since at the end of the quarter I'll be up for 4th Quarter review, which is a hardcore portfolio review that gauges one's progress, and whether or not your program really is for you or not. I need to draw a lot. I think I need to fill 4 sketch books to present, and then I can bring a few color prints of my digital work or have my computer ready for them to review my 3D modeling and such. I'm kinda nervous about filling 4 sketchbooks in 3 months time... especially since my department head is gone and I knew what he was looking for. (And a few other instructors are gone as well. There were major layoffs throughout all of the Art Institutes. I'm not going to get into that. The whole situation pisses me off. And don't tell me it's because Ai sucks, and I should have went to a real art school. I've had enough of you elitist fucks trying to tell me I'm not a real artist because I didn't go to your school.)

Anyways, now I'm just relaxing and playing some video games. I haven't really sat down to do that in quite some time. And I get time to get my house in order. Being a full time college student, and a mom is a real pain in the ass.

So it's been like for ever since I've updated this damn thing.

I've re-enrolled at the Art Institute of Seattle. I'm in my 3rd quarter and things are going well. I'm FINALLY learning Maya, and that program is fucking awesome! I love it to pieces. I'd do more work in it if i didn't have 3 other classes I have to pump out projects for every week. I'm quite busy, but it's well worth it. My fundamentals are vastly improving, and I'm learning quite a bit every day.

So if this account seems dead... it's because I'm getting my learn on.

I would have been in my 3rd quarter at Ai Seattle, but due to a family emergency I decided it was wise to support my family in their time of need and missing a lot of time would hurt my 3.8 GPA and could have turned into me losing my G.I. Bill benefits if I didn't withdraw before the quarter started. College will still be there when things settle.

My time there at the Art Institute, I've been learning a great deal, and have a very promising future in the Gaming Industry. I'm in the perfect place for it, and I have one very awesome idea/story I want to flesh out and tell in the video game medium. I won't be posting anything about it, however, I will let everyone know my progress with it. I plan to pitch it to someone one day with the help of a couple of folks, I'm am quite positive this idea will catch on and be mass produced for a console. And I'm not saying that because I'm a college student and I'm full of my self. No. I have a damn good grasp of what works and what doesn't in both Marketing and Pop Culture. I'm not your typical student, that's for damn sure. My age and prior experience should prove this.

So since I'm taking the quarter off, I've been researching, and playing a lot of great games and not so great games. Playing not so great games is a great way to learn what NOT to do, and what game devices and mechanics work and what doesn't.

List of Games I've been playing:

Star Wars Kinect
Sesame Streets: Once Upon A Monster
Batman: Arkham City
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood
Splintercell: Double Agent
Castlevania: Lord of Shadows
Brutal Legend
And games on the PSN

Games on the list to play:
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Red Dead Redemption
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Dead Island
Wolverine
Spiderman III
Captain America
(more will probably be added to this list)

I still refuse to play any MMOs. I just don't feel like shelling out the cash to buy the game, and then pay a monthly fee along with internet. Fuck that. I'm not as gullible as the masses, but I cannot deny the amount of money that is generated from the game type.

Then again... I'm the asshole that pays a fuck load for the Star Wars Kinect Edition. lol so much for being a cheap nerd. Perhaps I'm just a console snob. lol

It's been quite some time since I've updated, and that's to be expected from here on out. I've finally plunged into college and I'm busy as hell, but I love it. It really is a dream come true to embark into something I've been craving for since I got out of High School way back in 2002. The Faculty and Staff are really awesome people. I don't have any problems, nor do I foresee any issues in the future. Some might be firm, but they are fair. Then again, this might be because I am a very serious and mature student who isn't fresh out of high school and was just weened from the constant protection of mommy and daddy. So I kinda of laugh at their issues, however, I do help them out when I can. Lol I just gotta get my laugh in is all.

Or maybe I'm just an asshole... yea... that's it!

:iconragefaceplz:

Anyways, I realize now how blessed I am for this opportunity. I don't have to pay a cent to the school. My G.I. Bill and Pell Grant covers everything. Other former military aren't as lucky. I think this has to deal with my past college experience as well as the fact that I am a mother and a wife over the age of 25? I'm pretty sure my family and age have a lot to do with the amount I receive for the Pell Grant. This doesn't mean I don't fork money out. I still have to commute close to 2 hours a day (1 way)  5 days a week. It starts to rack up in regards to gas & parking when I drive, and then I have to factor in the train ticket for when I can take it... lol then there is this money hungry beast called Childcare. Fuck me sideways, that shit is like $784 a month! And I can't leave my kid with them for over 10 hours per a federal law of some sort.

But again, I really shouldn't complain. I still get paid monthly from the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill... and it could be worse. I could be a stupid kid rather then a wise old coot at the grand ole age of 27.

:iconcoolstorybroplz:

So aside from the wallet rapist, I went ahead and bought an Alienware M14x for school and got discounts for being a student, their promotions, and the dell card. This monkey is BEAAAAST! It's going to pwn the computer I built. The laptop is going to have Love "Darth" Collison engraved on the bottom to be adorned by the sound system and shall be complete with a bundled Alienware Backpack and Headphones. The specs on this creature are:

:bulletblue: Intel Core i7 2760QM 2.4GHz (3.5GHz w/Turbo Boost, 6MB Cache)
:bulletblue: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz
:bulletblue: 14.0 High Def+ (900p/1600x900) with WLED backlight
:bulletblue: 1.5GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M using NVIDIA Optimus technology
:bulletblue: 500GB 7200RPM SATA 3GB/s

(build one here www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-M1… just note that my bundle isn't offered anymore. )

When you compare this to my desktops current specs, I'm quite ashamed. Lol, mostly because I got this laptop at around $1,600, whereas my desktop took over $2,000. Then again I have a spiffy monitor and a bad ass motherboard that can take 24gb of RAM should I want to upgrade, and I can crossfire the video cards. You can compare the specs on my deviation. And now I realize I need to update this photo. Lol it's really out of date.

:: Desktop Shot 2010 :: by warui-shoujo

I should get my laptop on Oct 20th, 2011. I hope everything is good to go on my beastie when I receive it. I'd hate to send it back and start disintegrating people in customer service for being asshats. But at least I won't be a Mac owner... thank GOD!

Yea, I'm a Bill Gates fan. GFYS Steve Jobs... oh... wait, you can't... you're dead. Good riddance to the guy who cornered the computer market with an exclusive OS making computer builders have to buy your product for your shit-tastic system. And to all you Mac Fan's who will rage in my journal. Feel free... cause I'm going to make you eat all your words. Especially if you try to tell me MacOS is a more stable OS than any Windows. That shit fails all the time, and so do applications installed because of the way programmers have to code for that fuckwit of a system.

Please, either GTFO and GFYS, or put on your big boy pants, cause I'm going to assfuck you with a 10 inch strap on with no lube if you come up in here with all that noise.

So... yea, it's only been a couple weeks since my last update. But since then I have been heavily contemplating getting an Alienware m17x for college, despite having a beast of a machine I built. I'm starting to think that mobile convince would be really nice since I'm probably going to have to find extra time to work on projects with others and I don't like waiting for computers in a computer lab. I guess I'm just spoiled...

I figured I'd share. :stare:

Still having shit-tastic problems with the dealership and my car. They gave it back to me saying it was finished, and on my way driving it home, the fucker stalled on me, twice, in the middle of an intersection. I got it to start by mashing the gas on the 3rd turn of the key... only to have the car accelerate on it's own when I came to a complete stop two red lights down. Needless to say, I took the damn thing back to the dealership.

I told them I wanted a full refund, and they keep the car, since they replaced the engine and such. I told them the car was a hazard to the road, and if I would have been in an accident, it would have been a liability to them. Meaning I would have sued the FUCK out of them. I'm just glad nothing bad happened, and my son wasn't in the car. I don't play around with shit like my lives.

:iconfuuuuuplz:

But guess what they did? They are fixing it for me... free of charge... once again. after I told them NOT to. I'm fucking pissed, because I know it's not going to be fixed when I get it... I'm getting a lawyer and I will fight for my refund.

Assholes.

I don't start college until October 3rd, but the date is gaining on me. I'm a bit nervous, perhaps because I take this opportunity very seriously. I know I'll be fine but perhaps it's the pressures of knowing that this will kick start my career in the gaming industry. And that, is very serious business. More serious than the internet, no doubt...

:icontrollfaceplz:

Anyways, I go to pick up my class schedule and meet the head hanchos over at AI Seattle. Despite my admissions officer saying I'm her best student, lol, I have my doubts. Considering my personality, and  past experiences, I know all too well, simple things aren't simple. Take for example, me picking up my schedule... it's simple... but not really. I have to meet the president, a guy who has made his mark in the gaming industry working for Nintendo. Jesus TITS! If I piss this dude off, there goes my whole career. People say he's a hardass, but I know better. My Drill Instructor in the Marines was a hardass. Fuck- I was a hardass in the Marines. So I highly doubt his demeanor will make me falter. Afterall, he's just a nerd with a high income... it's not like he's going to send me to the sand pit and fight me for my platoon's guidon and then threaten to eat me alive when I fall to my knees and strip me of my title of Guide... RITE?

I mean, he'll laugh if I wore my tusken raider costume to the meeting... RIIIITE?!?!?!

So aside from the college adventure, I've been busy searching for inked lines from comic gurus in the comic industry. I'm trying to hone my skills to earn a bit of cash and soup up my husbands new Camaro with bolt on parts... and then eventually get myself my own bumble bee car and trick the shit out of her. That is after I trade in my Chrysler Sebring Convertible for the Camaro. (FYI STAY AWAY FROM MOPAR!!!! They make shit cars and are shit mechanics)

:icony-u-noplz: Y U NO FIX MAI CAR? I mean for fucksakes, I paid you assfucks over 6 grand for a new engine and parts, and it runs worse than before I blew up the engine?!?!?! GTFO!

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, before I got side tracked, for anyone actually reading this silly journal, please, I need honest and down right brutal critiques on my comic colorings. I won't lie, I'll be butt hurt when I get them, but I won't take it out on you. I need this so that I can prep my self for a higher professional level. In the end I'll respect you more for being brutally honest and not kissing my ass because we are buddies and saying "THAT'S SO COOL" and blah blah blah...

So can ya'll hook a nigga up?

I've been a very busy person these past few months. If I wasn't trooping with the 501st, or some other costumed event like a convention or Zombie walk, I've been adjusting to the life of Washington State. I've applied to the Art Institute of Seattle, and I should be starting my classes this fall. Apparently it costs over $90,000 USD to get a bachelors degree in Video Game Art and Design. Crazy shit! Good thing for me, I joined the Marines and got my Honorable Discharge after my active years in service... so I don't have to pay a cent. So in reality, the Marines was the smartest thing I ever did.

Aside from this, I seem to be making new friends and enjoying the atmosphere. This is the happiest I've been in a very long time... despite my car giving me hell. But this will soon pass as well. I have a lot of endeavors, some are costume related, while others are a bit more personal. The main thing would be Celebration VI in 2012. I reserved rooms for it, and I'm going... no matter what. Seems I'm going to play college hookie for a couple of days just to attend. But it's my first and as I stated before, I'm going no matter what. Lol I'll take a lower grade. It's Star Wars or Bust bitches!

The other stuff I've been working on are more digital paintings. I'm strongly contemplating getting a portfolio together in preparation for the comic industry. I want to see if I'm up to snuff in regards to being a colorist... we'll see.

I also want to officially thank mudimba for the extra month subscription. That was totally cool and rather unexpected. I greatly appreciate it, and I will make the most of it!

[/update]

Commissions

For any how are wondering, I'm open for commissions. I'll be updating my prices and I'll add a link here once I am done figuring out how I want to work things. If you don't want to wait that long, you can always note me.

FYI. I don't work for free...

Llamas

If you give me a llama, I will ALWAYS return it. I won't have access to a real computer on a regular basis for a bit longer. I need to install a WiFi adapter into my desktop and connect a wireless router to my existing modem. So I'll return them when I can.  I just need to gather the funds to update my hardware. So do not fret, just be patient.

So wow... it's been for forever since I've updated anything in my journal, and submitted any deviations that were drawn by me. If you all remember, I moved a few months ago. A cross country move from upstate NY to a town outside of Tacoma, WA. The drive was hellacious, but we are pretty much settled in our new house.

Yay! I'm a home owner now! :meow:

Anyways, since I've moved in (not completely, but mostly) I've applied to the 501st Legion, Vader's Fist, and I've since become a member! It's really awesome! Not only are the members really awesome people that I share common ground with, but they are good natured in regards to giving to charities. I cannot wait to go trooping with these guys again... after my engine transplant becomes a success (long story)

Here's proof: www.501st.com/members/displaym…

So expect more costume photos to come, along with the slew of new art pieces and comics. I'm going to be posting a great deal and I won't let up until I am knee deep in college courses.

Donations

I've added a donation jar on my page. It's for JediOrder and to help renew it's "Super" status. Any donation, even if it's one point, will be used for the group. If we raise more points than needed for the "Super" status renewal, then we will more than likely use the extra points for future contests or for the next renewal. JediOrder's "subscription," cause that's basically what a Super is, runs out on Dec 2.

However, I'm doing some art for points. I'll lower my prices so that the group will have extra points for it's members and supporters. Just something I wanted to throw out there. I'll still be doing normal commissions though. PM me for details. Serious Inquiries ONLY

Yes, it's that time for me. The movers are packing up my shit on Monday and Tuesday, since apparently, we have a lot of shit. And on Wednesday, it gets thrown in a truck to be shipped to Fort Lewis, and placed in storage until we have arrived in town and have a house.

So right now I am scrambling to find a months worth of clothes for both myself and my son (my husband can figure it out on his own), hygiene gear like shampoo toothepaste etc, and some music... hours and hours upon music for me to listen to. I gotta burn a lot of CDs. Hopefully the next time I do a trip like this, I'll have an MP3 player hookup for my stereo in my car. I never really saw the need for it before. Now I see it's purpose. Although, I'm sure many who have an MP3 hookup, aren't on the road for long periods of time, like 12 hours straight a day, for 5 days. lol.

I'm kind of worried. Mostly in regards to the movers. Last time I had movers in my house cataloging my things and boxing them up, I lost a remote control to my surround sound, a cat bed, and a neon clock. Seriously, who in the hell is compelled enough to steal such random shit? I've heard stories of Marines losing a subwoofer, or a whole sound system gone missing... but just the remote? How thick can you get?

Anyways, at least my car is fixed... kind of. Today I take it to BestBuy to rewire my sub and amp in my trunk. Then on Tuesday, I take it back in to the mechanic to replace the serpentine & coolant belt, a safegaurd done (transmission fluid), oil change, and I think my ABS sensors... although I don't think I'm getting the ABS sensors done. I should, I just don't feel like paying the parts and labor on it. If I get it done, I might as well get a break job done too...

So that's pretty much my weekend. I might play some Xbox, or finish up some art... but I highly doubt it.
[/personal list of things to do]

If you haven't already noticed, I changed my journal. I think it looks pretty awesome. I was attempting to make a datapad with a crazy hologram flickering with a bad connection as my theme. Yay Star Wars! I based it off of Pyritie's Hive CSS.

"She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself." wink grin by nillemotes

I'll be messing with the features a bit more... but for now I think I've done a decent job editing the color scheme, making new buttons and cursors, as well as the header animation. I'll also be revamping my Gallery CSS to match the new journal. So aside from the journal face lift, I've been attempting to do some new art. I've finished my Left 4 Dead hunter Cosplay, I just need to take more photos on Halloween when I take my kid Trick-or-Treating this year. Lol we are all going to be Zombies... my kid's got it down pat... he even does the Grudge crawl and voices... and of course he can do the zombie walk. Not bad for a 3 year old... must be because I left him watch me play video games and horror flicks?

"You let your kid watch that stuff!?!!?"

FUCK YEA! Mamma ain't gonna raise no pussy kid. Desensitizing? No. Not when I teach my kid that it's not real, and if he attempts to do the violent stuff showed for real, he'll get an ass whoopin' from hell.

:paranoid:

Ok now that I've fallen off of the "art" track, let me get back on. I've been working on several pieces, some related to Star Wars Role Playing, while some are more personal. I don't think I'll finish all of my projects until well after the move. Since I'll have to settle in and get internet. If you are wondering about commissions, I'm going to hold them off until after the move. There's just way too much stuff I have to accomplish before I take on any business now.

As I mentioned above, and in previous journal entries, I'm moving from the east coast to the west coast. I'm hoping we move Nov 19th, but the latest could be Dec 5th. It's going to be a hellacious drive. We will be driving both of our vehicles, I finally fixed my car... with my own hands mind you.

Here's the skinny according to MapQuest:

  • Total Travel Estimate: 43 hours 26 minutes
  • Approx. Mileage: 2833.75 miles
  • Approx. Fuel Cost: :noes: $796.00 (for 2 vehicles)

I don't know about you, but I'm certainly NOT looking forward to this adventure with a 3 year old and a cat. I suppose it will be well worth it in the end. I guess I'll be the judge of that when I pick out the house we will be living in for the next 4 years.

Other (sic) News

It's been quite some time since I have been active on this site... or any internet social networking site. I've been "ill" as of late. I won't go into detail, but I've been battling this thing for quite some time now. Years really. It's not really life threatening, but none the less, it's effected my way of life, my actions, and thoughts. If lifestyle changes don't help any, in regards to my major move to Seattle, Washington, then I'm probably going to have to be on some sort of medication. It's weird talking about it in a blasted journal entry. I normally keep this sort of stuff private, but in a way it still is.

Perhaps I just want to inform those who watch me, with a justifiable reason as to why I have been... idle, so to speak.

I'm leaving again...

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 26, 2010, 4:43 PM

Vacation
No, I'm not leaving dA. I'm just leaving the state, tonight, and again. driving from up state NY to Maryland, then Virginia, and then way fucking down to Arkansas to see my father. NY to MD is 7-8 hours. Baltimore, MD to VA Beach is 4 hours... and from there it's 22 hours. Then the drive from Arkansas back to NY.

FUCK THIS SHIT~!
:iconragefaceplz:

It's just to visit my family and friends one last time before my grand move to Seattle, in Jan. That's the drive I'm really dreading. I really don't consider this a vacation. I just came from Maryland. I consider this a pain in my fuckin ass. All it really is, is driving with 3-4 days of trying to see everyone before I roll out. Really not cool.

I had a whole month to see some fuckers in Maryland... and some people just didn't want to do anything. But I will admit I really didn't try and call everyone. So it's whatever. Those I did see last month are all who really matter. Very close friends and family, with a few cool new folks from the convention.

Certainly this is going to be a bit more depressing. I sense my mother is going to cry a river...

At least I get to see the Ravens play on Saturday.

I'm BAAAAAAcK!

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 10, 2010, 10:58 PM

Otakon
:excited:
HOLY FUCK STICK BATMAN! That was the best Otakon I have attended, and I've been going since 1999. (not consecutively though) What made it so bad ass, was the folks I met through Wes, and kicking it old skool with some folks from my past life. Seriously, thanks so much guys! You have no idea how much it meant to me to hang out, and to have a very memorable Otakon. Considering, it's my last.

:?
My last, you say?

Yes. I'm moving to the west coast. In particular Seattle, Washington sometime in January. I'll be moving on to bigger and better things such as Sci-Fi conventions, joining the 501st & Rebel Legion, Star Wars Weekends, & of course, ComicCon- San Diego. And since  I'm moving to the west coast, it would be uberly retarded to fly to my home, Baltimore, MD, for a convention. Even though I'll miss all the great folks I kicked it with over there. We will still keep in touch. Oh the wonders of social networking sites.

:wow:
Speaking of hardcore costuming, I've been told my X-Wing Pilot is ready for the Rebel Legion. I just need to start my application process and submit it. I'm going to wait until after Celebration V, since most of the Officers and members that look over the photos of me, are going to be attending. Lucky them. I was about to go, but my husband couldn't get leave in time. It's ok though, there's always Celebration VI. I'm not missing that for the world.

:D
Anyways, you might have noticed all my submissions into my gallery over the past couple of days. They are all photos of me Cosplaying at Otakon. I had them taken at the Photo Suite, a professional "studio" offered at the con. They will be held for record, and can quite possibly show up in the next Convention magazine. Either way, I bought them. A nice souvenir in my opinion.

;P
So take a gander. I have to say, I was the best fucking Corey Taylor (from SlipKnoT) there, and ever (in my opinion), and the best Rebel Pilot... since I was the only one! But the best part was when I was scaring the living shit out of the Baltimore natives when I was passing a bus stop on my way to the parking garage. It was fucking hilarious! Like, I had the women, children, and even grown ass men, jumping at the site of me dressed up as Corey Taylor from Vol. 3! I think I would have had more photo's taken of me, if I didn't look so god damn scary... and if the stupid kids at Otakon knew who I was. They probably thought I was some really fucked up Zombie of some sort.

But seriously... look at this scary monster!
:: Gimme a Scream Corey :: by warui-shoujo
You cannot say you wouldn't be creeped out fuckers! It's ok though, everyone wanted to take the photo of the Rebel Pilot. I think I'm the only one to grace the Convention center with one... I cannot remeber an X-Wing pilot roaming the convention halls... let alone the streets of Baltimore.

:lmao:
Dude, like a guy dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow along with his little pirate crew, they were on the street corner with me, and tried to be witty as I was dawning my X-Wing helmet, saying,

"Are you going to be shot out of a canon?!?!"

:|
My retort,
"Do I look like Evil fuckin' Kenevil?"

Shortly after, some woman yelled,
"Hey there Astronaut!"

:shakefist:
You uncultured swines! Seriously? Have you not watched Star Wars? Did your mommy and daddy not love you enough to let you watch the series? Another reason why I won't be buying a house or trying to move back to Maryland. You mutha fuckers are about god damn retarded. But I have to admit, I will miss my family and friends. You're the only reason why I go back... well... that and the Steamed Crabs!

Anywho, I'm back...

Other News
As I mentioned, I've been uploading a shit load of shit lately. I tried uploading stuff from the 4th of July, but my brother and mother kept moving the truck, so I got a lot of camera shake. But the fireworks turned out pretty good considering my circumstances. Lol Certainly better than the year I almost fought some asshole here in NY because I was taking photos... that's another story for another time. Ask me and I'll illuminate you on the subject.

Anyways, I've been doing some painting lately. Well, more like Photomanipulation... but since I'm mostly painting over my own stock photo, it's more like digital painting. You can debate on that if you'd like...

Regardless, I've been busy. And not just with art, but with catching up with my husband. He finally came back from Iraq while I was attending Otakon. Lol. He had no one to hug at his homecoming... well other than his Private. My husband said it was best I didn't go anyways, since I would have yelled at all the stupid ass Army wives, who couldn't get their fucking shit together in regards to organizing it. Everything was last min apparently, and they kept changing the time and location. Good thing I wasn't there... cause that's fucking unacceptable. Even for civilians and bag nasties.

But alas, I regress.

Here's my progress... just a comparison... for those who don't want to watch the hours upon hours of my livestream channel.

Otakon and other News

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 26, 2010, 11:37 AM

Otakon
Lately I've been working diligently on some costumes for Otakon. I'll post official photos from the events once I get a hold of them. I pick up my badge on Thursday, and the convention is from Friday the 30th - Sunday the 1st. I'll be going as Corey Taylor from Vol. 3 on Friday. Saturday, I'll be Corey Taylor from the Self Titled album (red jumpsuit) and then switching over for another shoot @ 6:30 pm to the X-Wing Pilot costume. I don't know what I'm doing on Sunday... that's kinda up in the air.

I think I'll be going to the rave on Friday, but not the one at the convention. There's one out in town for 12 bucks, and they have drinks... that's where I'll be at. Fuck the all ages event at the con. "Erbody in the club get tipsy!"
[/excitement]

Other News
My husband comes home from Iraq. That's pretty cool, so after the con me and my boy will get to see him. It's been over 10 months. I'm probably going to still be in limbo. I'll post photos every now and then, but I'll be quite busy playing catch up with my husband, and searching for a new home when we move to Seattle at the end of the year. I don't know when I'll be able to paint. I guess I'm on a hiatus, but I'm not leaving dA.

Birthday and SlipKnoT

Journal Entry: Wed May 26, 2010, 7:33 PM

Birthday
So I've been on this earth 25 years, 364 days, and some change... I'm really not looking forward to reaching 26 years. I don't really feel old or act it. I guess it's just my body seems to think other wise, and little asshole kids and their annoying chants, "What do you know about -insert something hip and cool here-??? You're mad old." or when ever I state my age when the question arises on Halo. Then they act like I told them I have slaves in my back yard tending my crop.
:|
There is one good thing about being older. You tend to be wiser, more educated, informed, and most importantly are less prone to stupid idiotic things that kids do.
:hmm:
Perhaps I am starting to mold myself into one of those decrepit bitter senior citizens, that shake their cane and threaten kids to get off their lawn. I just hope that when that day comes, I can still lift my shotgun, cock it, aim, and fire without breaking a bone or throwing out a hip. That would suck.

SlipKnoT News
For those who don't know already, Paul Gray, also known as #2 and "The Pig" was found dead in an Iowa Hotel room on May 24th from what sources speculate was a drug overdose. The 38 year old Bassist for SlipKnoT was one of the founders of the band in 1995 and was considered "the very essence of SlipKnoT" according to Shawn "Clown" Carhan.

This really sucks, because I never got to see SlipKnoT play live. I really don't think the band will try to find a replacement after mentioning this notion in several previous interviews prior to Paul's death. I will be pleasantly surprised if they carry on... but I'm not going to hold my breath.

RUN FER YER LIVES!!!
So, I bet most of you who watch me, are either, A.) Getting spammed by my deviations or, B.) Are a Beta Tester and have the privilege to look a my stack of deviations that look the same, or C.) You don't have any in your message box because you don't watch scraps.

Regardless, I've been busy for the past couple of days. Aside from my other worldly life that I live, I've been on a Sleeping Strike, and decided to get busy on some art. You can find my progress on my LiveStream channel. If I'm not live, there still should be videos for you to watch. I don't think there is a fast forward button, so have fun with those sessions if you want to watch them in their entirety. Although, there's some nice music playing.
If you are one of those patient souls, you'll find some of my secret pieces that I open up from time to time for a viewer that was asking for some tips. (I won't drop dimes, I ain't no snitch homez) Although, only those who followed particular RP sessions in #JediOrder chatroom. I'll just hint that there's blaster fire in it.

BUT~ :noes:

If you aren't patient... cause I sure as fuck ain't... then your in luck. Cause I'm uploading the WIP, and it should be in my scraps as soon as I'm done typing this crazy journal. It's not much to look at, but nothing really is when it's a Work in Progress.

For those, who have given me a Llama badge, I'll return the favor, gimme a day. I have to sort through my inbox and then purge all 3,209 Deviations 1,065 Messages, 4 Notes, 8 Group Messages... a real pain in the ass. But you'll get your Llama in due time.

Let's see, my son is now 3 years old as of the 18th of April. I saw my husband, but he left again... and I'm getting old. Me and my husband came to the realization that I'm probably having or had an early midlife crisis. It's weird, hard to explain. But my wonderful day of getting closer to dying is on the 27th of May. There will be no drinks (even though I want to get shit faced), no party, no friends, no family (except the hell spawn.) Just a cold house, these white walls, and this shitty ass town. January cannot come any faster. I want to move so bad.

Aside from that... I've been having an interesting diet. Mostly consisting of fruit smoothies and an evening chow with some sort of meat (usually sockeye salmon) and a green veggie (usually asparagus.) Seems my body has transitioned into the, "Hey Asshole, Let's Shed Some God Damn Weight" mode or something. My brain even tricked me into wandering beyond the toy isle in Wal-Mart and into the free weight section. I think since my computer is done... my body wants another fucking hobby. To return back to weight training... not entirely bad... until I think about keeping 25 lbs dumbbells and weighted vest/ankles/wrist straps away from Boy Wonder. Perhaps I'll throw him in the stroller, and run his ass around.

God Save Me From My Own Hell...

New Computer *edits*

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 15, 2010, 9:54 PM

FINALLY!
I finally have a computer that meets my high end demand. No more Photoshop crashes, no more laggy applications, I can multitask, livestream, and finally be happy!

I'll be doing a LOT more art, obviously. I just won't be doing any until after the 23rd. Or I don't plan on it anyways. My husband is home, on leave, from Iraq, and I want to spend as much time with him as possible. I'm really glad me and him got to finish our first build together. It runs so smooth, and quiet. Windows 7 isn't any different or better than Windows Vista. At least from what I see. Just an upgraded Windows Media Player and themes, etc.

I'm probably going to be making my own website now since I finally could use Adobe CS4. My laptop wouldn't let it load because of it's low specs. I'll keep everyone posted on my website. When the time comes I won't leave DA. I mean I've been here for ages, it's just that I want something professional for resumes and business cards, yadda yadda yadda...

Lol but back to my baby... I named this particular PC Build, "Blue Demon." I have a lot of good specs on this thing. When I take a desktop shot, I'll introduce you to my beastie.

As I mentioned, my husband is on leave, so I've been spending a lot of time with him. Playing Xbox 360, getting him caught up on achievements and games, going out to eat, grilling, etc. So I haven't finished the short story I said I was working on. I haven't forgotten about it. I promise it's going to get finished, the same with the art that needs to get out. Commissions especially.

Life is good... until the hubby leaves for Iraq again. But, and we get more money, so I cannot complain. Not to mention, the tax returns we get because of his deployment. It's insane! Lol but we aren't going to blow it, gotta save money for our move in Dec/Jan to Seattle. And it doesn't look like I'll be going to any conventions this year. But that's ok too... just means I can get a nicer house and keep money in the bank for a shitty day. Although... I'm worried about that fucking Volcano we will be living near... I'm wondering if that's why real-estate is so cheap!

And So, The Saga Begins...

Or Does It End?
Thanks to Drake-Rylan to blow the flicker I had in my head into a raging inferno, I'm back into writing again... but not what people might think. People meaning, those that have followed and continue to follow me from Jedi Order and those who read my short stories. I just can't sit here and think about what I'm going to write much longer. I have to physically type it or I'll go mad. Sadly this has to happen the morning of me leaving Baltimore back to New York. Thanks Murphy and your god forsaken, but utterly true, Laws.

Whether or not I return to JediOrder is still in the air. I'm not going to write it off, but I'm not going to say I'm returning. I actually, surprisingly, like my hiatus very much. Gave me time to think, recollect, and reconnect with the other things I love. But me being a Gemini, I cannot stick with just one thing.

Anyways, before too long I'll post the Final Chapter to Imogen's story, and start a new one... heh.

To be continued...

Other News
I'm still having Xbox 360 issues, and I'm resolving them... as soon as I get home. My parts are in the mail... and probably in my door. Which kinda suck since I told the post office to hold my shit. The faggots.

Aside from gaming, I've tackled a good chunk of coloring on my Ren vs Imogen piece. Still no luck with LiveStream, but that's cool. Fuck em. As for other art, it's in the works. I've just been more drawn to mask making lately (if my package ever comes in the fucking mail, that's another long story) and doing research on various latex and sculpting techniques.

Aside from my hobbies, it seems I've lost weight since the last time I've been home. I like to thank Cherry and Vanilla Coke ZERO and awesome berry crystal light! Not much exercise, but that will change when I start up DDR again and play the drums on hard on both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Hopefully by the time I move to Seattle, I won't have much more to lose, but rather more to gain in regards to muscle. Man do I miss my 240 Golfs for biceps.

:D

Until next time kiddos,
~Love Collison
